Nyssa sylvatica

Size: 3-gallon

The Blackgum is a stunning addition to any garden, celebrated for its vibrant fall color and unique, pyramidal shape. Typically reaching heights of 30-50 feet, this tree features glossy, dark green leaves that transform into brilliant shades of red, orange, and purple in the autumn, creating a spectacular display. In spring, it produces small, inconspicuous flowers that give way to attractive blue-black berries, which are enjoyed by wildlife. Thriving in a variety of soil types, including wet and dry conditions, the Blackgum adapts well to both full sun and partial shade. Its low-maintenance nature and striking seasonal color make it an excellent choice for enhancing the beauty and character of your landscape.

  • Purchased and reserved trees can be picked up at the Sand Hill Nursery at the pickup dates and times noted in your confirmation email.

  • Size = size of the pot they are currently in. The actual height of trees varies from 1' to 6'.
