Asheville Greenworks Home
Volunteer
Asheville GreenWorks depends on Volunteers to keep Asheville and Buncombe “clean & green“. Be one of the thousands of volunteers that have worn the “yellow” for a better Community.
Adopt-a-Street
Adopt a street or highway with your group, family or business and help keep it litter free.
Bag Monster
Wear the hottest outfit in town while educating people about Recycling, Reducing and Refusing plastic products. Check out other Volunteers on the ABM’s Fackbook page: www.facebook.com/ashevillebagmonster
Beautification
Plant, weed, mulch, develop and maintain one of many different guerilla gardened locations in and around town.
CLPP
Cigarette, Litter, Prevention, Program = Downtown litter walks, combined with educational hand outs and sign holding. This is one half activism and one half awesome.
Events
Represent the GreenWorks at Festivals, Fairs, Shows and Gatherings. Signup new Volunteers, hand out educational materials and occasionally sort through garbage cans.
Graffiti Busters
Remove or paint over graffiti vandalism. Pressure washers, paint and fun.
Invasives
Learn how to remove, eradicate and otherwise destroy invasive plant species. Machetes, axes and sweat!
River and Stream Cleanups
Wade creeks, float and swim rivers to relieve our waterways of unwanted trash. It’s wet, cold and dirty work but vital to the health of our most precious resource.
Tree Planting
Reserved for the Spring and Fall, we plant as many native trees as humanly possible.
With the amount of projects we have available you can work on your own schedule, create a custom outing or join in for a group event. Check out our Home page calendar on the right side for upcoming events.
If you’re interested in getting involved in one of our projects, please e-mail volunteer@ashevillegreenworks.org or call 828-254-1776.
