We work with groups of all ages and abilities. Minors under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult on all workdays. Minors 15-18 can volunteer unaccompanied but must have a parent or guardian submit a minor waiver. Contact [email protected] to learn more.

CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING
ALTERNATIVE BREAK TRIPS
In 2019, Asheville GreenWorks engaged 3,347 volunteers in 213 projects.
That's a big deal! We love the way our community shows up to take care of our urban environment.

Where do volunteers work?
Public lands in Asheville and Buncombe County. Our mission is to equip and mobilize individuals to care for the places they love to live. That means greenways, parks, neighborhood roads, creeks, streams, rivers, and community orchards. You should be able to enjoy all of the places you've helped to improve!

What do volunteers do?

Plant trees, pull tires from waterways, remove thousands of pounds of litter from creeks and roadsides, help with recycling events, build bee habitats, and more!

How can you get involved?
Check out our Upcoming Events to see what public volunteer projects you can get involved in. If your business, school, church, or friend group want to organize their own project, we can do that! Just email our [email protected] to set something up. For corporate volunteer and alternative break groups, we ask that you consider making a donation, as this allows us to coordinate a project best suited for your group and make opportunities possible for others.

Want to help but not quite ready to volunteer? Consider sponsoring an event or program or making a contribution to support Asheville GreenWorks.

No matter what, you'll still get to show that you #LoveWhereYouLive.

By submitting this form, you will be subscribed to receive our monthly
e-newsletter and updates about all upcoming volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in a specific project for your group, please include a comment in your submission or reach out directly to to our Community Engagement Coordinator.

Asheville GreenWorks is a 501(c)3 non-profit environmental organization, governed by a Board of Directors. Established in 1973, GreenWorks mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize individuals and communities to take care of the places we love to live.
