Asheville GreenWorks is on the hunt for old, but usable t shirts. Our very own crafty Christine Brown, GWorks Environmental Educator will be working with student groups this summer to teach them how to create their own reusable shopping bags.
If you have some old t-shirts clogging up your closet, please consider donating them for this new project series. For more info please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org Ph 828-254-1776
The average American shopper uses 500 single use shopping bags a year. 87% of these baggies end up either in the landfill or worse floating around in the environment. We would like to limit our usage of this single use plastic and show that you CAN carry groceries home in something other than paper or plastic. Check out the Asheville Bag Monster and our mission to reduce our dependance on single use plastics.
