![]() Asheville - Seeking volunteers to help clear out a log jam that formed during the most recent rain storms. If we leave the jam in the water, the trees will force the creek water to erode the banks. This creates turbidity (muddy water) and the obstruction makes it tough for paddlers to travel these waters. Volunteers will be expected to be able to lift at least 50 lbs, over 18 years of age and fit enough to climb steep embankments. Since we will be in the oh-so-chilly water, we will provide insulated chest waders, boots, tools and supervision. **Hot beverages, tasty snacks and high-fives will also be provided. When Saturday, Jan 30th 2016 Where The road to the Transfer Station Hominy Creek Road, West Asheville NC 28801 (park next to the Hominy Creek in the gravel lot with the GWorks road signs) Can I bring my own tools? Yes, but please call us first. Email [email protected] or call Eric at 828-254-1776 for more information. Comments are closed.
