2014 was a big year for the GWorks. We held 196 projects, cleaning up 187 miles of river, recycling 905 tires, planting 649 trees, removing 18 tons of trash from the roads and engaging 2,698 volunteers. We simply couldn't have done this without the support of our Members and Volunteers. For 41 years, we've relied on our community to help us keep our urban environment clean and green. For #GivingTuesday we're asking that you consider donating to our Food Tree Project. The mission is simple, to make MORE FOOD available, EVERYWHERE. We're planting Figs / Blueberries at bus stops, Persimmon's in parks, Serviceberries at schools and creating community orchards for anyone to enjoy. So far we have five orchards in the ground and we're planning to build two more in 2015. Our volunteers will maintain the orchards and the surrounding community is welcome to benefit from the harvest. $10 will plant a Blueberry $20 plants a Pawpaw or Blackberry $50 plants either an Apple or Cherry Tree Thank you for supporting the GWorks!
