Did you know? - Styrofoam Recycling in Asheville

9/8/2015

**article updated Jan 11th 2017**
Another great resource for recycling in the Asheville area opened Spring 2015. The Publix Super Market chain came to Asheville in April of 2015 bringing along with them the ability to recycle food grade styrofoam!

You read that right, YOU CAN RECYCLE food grade styrofoam at their Hendersonville Road location for FREE! There are a few small concessions that we need to make to keep this recycling program going.

1) Only bring food grade styrofoam (see the photos below)

2) Make sure that the containers are clean and free of trash & food related items.

3) If you have a large quantity of styrofoam, please let someone in the store know that you're dropping off. This is a small courtesy to the employees as they would like to keep the front of their store neat and picked up.

What types of styrofoam can I recycle at Publix?

Egg Cartons
Cups
Carry out containers
Plates
