Help GreenWorks keep our rivers and roads litter-free and looking great with your donation to our #GivingTuesday campaign.
As the leader in pollution prevention in Western North Carolina, GreenWorks has seen it all. Tires, shopping carts, TV's, even old washing machines have been dumped in our local waterways and along roadsides for decades. Water bottles, beer cans, styrofoam takeout containers, cigarette butts and the occasional flip-flop can all be found floating downstream after a heavy rain.
Your donation to GreenWorks this #GivingTuesday will have a huge impact on pollution prevention in WNC.
Thanks to financial support from donors like you, GreenWorks organizes thousands of volunteers each year to collect litter from our rivers and roads. In 2017, volunteers have collected over 64,000 pounds of trash by hand!
Let's raise $16,000 this #GivingTuesday.
That's only 25 cents per pound of trash collected!

In addition to working harder, we've been working smarter by coming up with innovative systems for capturing trash before it enters the French Broad River, like the Trash BOOM on small tributaries and the larger, more durable Trash Trout that's been gobbling up waterborne litter on Mud Creek in Hendersonville since June 2017.
The Trash Trout prevented over 1,200 pounds of litter from entering the French Broad River since its installation less than five months ago! |
