Tire Amnesty Days, May 25th & 26th 2013
Thanks to the generous grant from Walmart, we are able to offer these events free and open to the public in order to encourage greater community cooperation and understanding of proper tire recycling.
Saturday and Sunday in the Sears Asheville Mall front parking lot, our volunteers and sponsors will be ready to accept tires on or off rim at no charge from residents of Buncombe County. Please bring along valid ID or your most recent water bill showing that you're a Buncombe County resident.
This free event is geared for the general public and not area businesses. If you're an area business and you need to dispose of tires, please contact our offices for more information. 828-254-1776

Why are we doing this?
GreenWorks Volunteers pull out on average of 2,000 tires from the French Broad River every year. Tires left to photodegrade in the water will release harmful heavy metals into that harm our fish and wildlife.
With the aid of local Law Enforcement Agencies we strive to catch persons in the act of "dumping" with hidden cameras.
