Tire Amnesty Day: Let's Share Some Dirt

10/10/2012

Picture
When volunteers think of recycling volunteers, it's typically a pretty dirty affair; dirt, 'tire juice,' and the mysterious muck that gets between the toes. This Saturday, though, is a special affair; on Tire Amnesty Day, our volunteers get to stay (relatively) clean, and thank the wonderful people of Buncombe County for nipping the problem in the bud. Rather than let their old and used tires be illegally dumped, locals can bring them to the Asheville Mall's Sears Parking lot to be recycled. But, before they can be recycled, these tires have to be loaded up and 'laced' in these trailers.
